The 90 Illini
Top-50
That’s a great collection of video clips. The first 3 were heavily contested shots that fortunately went in for the Illini. As for the 4th, I’ll never understand how the Indiana boys left Grif so wide open. Utter humiliation for them!
I like to call these the Indiana Walk(s) of Shame….
I think I need a cigarette after watching this.
.
@darenberg – brilliant.
.
Quite possibly my favorite entry ever on Alioneye. Thanks, Robert.
.
Now, the true question…can they use the momentum from this win to get five more conference wins? I think 8-10 gets them in the tourney.
Cigarette? Not for me — but a stiff bourbon on the rocks will help.
Preferably Knob Creek.
Chief98,
I am so with you regarding darenberg. I was sitting in here in the afterglow post watching those 4 videos, and when I read the cigarette comment I almost fell off my chair. Truly an all time classic given the context.
And Robert….great headers.
.
The Nick shot is still the greatest. I mean, right after Edwards hits the devastating shot on us – we respond with THAT! To just stun their home crowd that was on cloud 9 a second earlier. And so perfect that the screen said “Storm Warning”. How prophetic…
.
I stand by my earlier comments that Wisconsin is pretty darn good. Wins at IU and at home against Michigan now.
Nick’s shot in someways is the top of the mountain of last second shots beat IU just because it came after a somewhat miraculous IU shot. Griffey’s layup has a bit the same feel only because of the steal beforehand and blocked layup. IU undoubtedly felt they were positively headed for overtime. There is nothing like beating IU on last second shots. Does UI have an opponent where we have so many last second winning shots over a formidable rival with a rich BB tradition?
