Easy Post December 18, 2012
You’re thinking, like, “if Robert were to rank the Big Ten basketball teams from 1-12, what order would he put them in? And if he were to make comments on each ranking, is there a Big Ten blog that might publish them?”
You’re in luck. It was Robert Week on the Delany’s Dozen blogger power poll. OK, maybe Robert Week is a bit much – I simply begged to be the featured poll this week. If you want my thoughts on the Big Ten as we approach conference play, follow the link below.
Good Post, Robert.
Enjoyed it as always.
.
But the starting paragraph was a pisser.
Does the Indiana “2 point overtime loss to a very good basketball team in Butler” hurt them and can Illinois be “for real or is it a byproduct of a less than difficult schedule?”
.
What? Who are these clowns?
Well done Robert!!
Thanks for giving me a place to land every day and read about my beloved Illini! I’m stuck down here in the far end of the state in Kentucky country, and it’s miserable.
And everybody that reads this should go read your linked story. I loved the Nebraska comments!!!
Oh, however, our strength of schedule is #21 via the RPI right now, which carries Illinois as the #5 team in the country.
I loved the Bruce Weber reference in the PSU comment. I watched Butler smoke K-State last weekend; can’t say that I miss Weber’s sideline antics at all (or his team’s offensive collapse in the second half).
Robert,
.
I’ll be at the game Saturday. Any special requests you have for me i.e. yelling something specific at the Mizzou side, just let me know.
.
And Bexley,
.
Butler didn’t play KSU last weekend. KSU has only lost to Michigan and Gonzaga (hehe) with a probable Florida loss coming tonight.
.
BW was in that article on ESPN a week or two back as one of the “fast starter” coaches…right up their with our JG. I’m not sure why they put him in that group…oh well.
.
As of right now, KSU can beat the scrubs but not the high majors. We shall see how the rest of the year plays out…so far it’s no looking good.
Hoppy, yes are right. In my mind I was thinking Gonzaga, but typed Butler. I have a bad habit of transposing names sometimes…….
Nonetheless, I’m happier with JG!
Hoppy:
And that right there is why BW belongs at a school like K State or SIU. He will do just fine, and win his share of games. He’ll beat the teams he’s supposed to beat, lose to a few of them too, but lose to about ALL of the teams that are higher rated.
He’s a good guy and loves basektball. He’s just not a good enough coach to lead a top tier program, IMO.
Bexley,
.
Totally agree about JG!
.
Southern,
.
I’m with ya there man. I’m anxious to see where KSU goes as well as where we trend.
.
Go Illini!
