I saw that, but I'm putting it in the "believe it when I see it" category.

Bottom line, at least for me, is that the University is focused on the clout scandal and trying to find a new President & Chancellor. I think the common view from the Board of Trustees to the AD's office is that Zook gets one more year, the new President picks Guenther's successor next fall, and the new AD picks Zook's successor next winter.

I just can't see Ron Guenther picking a new football coach in this environment. Nor would I want him to.

Did you see Tupper's blog from last night?

http://www.herald-review.com/app/blogs/marktupper/?p=723

This statement especially:

"...by now we expected to hear something about the “changes” AD Ron Guenther talked about back on Oct. 24th, when he also said head coach Ron Zook will be back. If you’re firing assistant coaches, what’s the delay?

"The turmoil and delays – and silence – add credence to the possibility that Guenther is being forced to reconsider his decision on Zook. If the program is crumbling all around him, the proper damage control might be to pull the plug completely."

I know this is speculation on Tupper's part, but he makes a very good point.

Couldn't agree more with this point. I would suggest that should actually be point #1 in the 19 point plan. If Zook doesn't give up control, nothing else matters.
